About Us

Legz is an emerging Australian sports analytics, stats, and prediction platform designed to help punters make more informed betting decisions. We’re currently building out a product for sports fans who want to make data-led, strategic betting decisions. We focused on NRL for season ‘24 and believe we’re close to finding product-market fit. We’re looking to double down in the off-season and bring an even better product to market for season ‘25. That’s where you come in.

The Role

We’re looking for a bit of a unicorn. Ideally, we’d love someone as passionate about NRL & AFL as us, with standout technical skills and an eye for design. This role is ideal for someone with a blend of engineering, product, and design expertise. Ideally, we’re looking for someone as comfortable making product decisions as they are designing and building out new features. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of our product and technology as we grow through the next phase.

This isn’t your typical job. We’re small, the product is new, and you’ll be joining early. Help us build out the product for ‘25, and if it’s a good fit, there’s potential for equity in the business and an ongoing role. It’s perfect for someone entrepreneurial with another project on the go or someone looking for a side hustle/project. To date, Tom, the founder, has been building out the platform himself full-time-ish (he also has other projects). This role really is more about output than hours. You can work when you like, how you like, from where you like.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate on the design and development of core features for our analytics & statistics platform.
• Work closely with stakeholders (engineering & product) to define the technical architecture and design.
• Implement scalable, efficient solutions that align with the company’s vision and objectives.
• Identify and act on opportunities to improve user experience, site performance, and product value.
• Assist in the development and execution of product strategies, helping to align engineering and business goals.
• Stay current with sports technology trends and innovations, bringing fresh ideas to the team.

About You

• Strong experience in full-stack development, ideally in sports tech or a data-driven environment.
• Proven track record in product development, from ideation through to delivery.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate business goals into technical requirements.
• Experience with Agile or iterative development processes, including rapid testing and product refinement.
• A passion for sports and an understanding of how data can be used to enhance betting strategies.
• Entrepreneurial spirit with the drive to take ownership and make meaningful contributions.
• A willingness and ability to work in a small team with no supervision.
